Introduction to computer programming including design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation.

Implement and support virtualization of clients of servers in a networked computing environment. This course explores installation, configuration, and management of computer virtualization workstation and servers. Install and configure virtual machine managers, create and network virtual machines and set priorities for accessing resources. Move and clone virtual machines. Ensure high availability for applications within virtual machines. Lectures projects and exercises reinforce skills as they are learned.

Current personal computer hardware including assembly, upgrading, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Safeguard computer operating systems by demonstrating server support skills and designing and implementing a security system. Identify security threats and monitor network security implementations. Use best practices to configure operating systems to industry security standards.

Implement, administer, and troubleshoot information systems that incorporate servers in a networked computing environment.

Instruction in web design and related graphic design issues including mark-up languages, web sites, and browsers.

Overview of computer systems-hardware, operating systems, and microcomputer application software, including the internet, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, and databases. Current issues such as the effect of computers on society, and the history and use of computers in business, educational, and other modern settings are also studied.
